Diversity & equal opportunities
Charles Russell is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to establishing effective policies designed to ensure the development and promotion of equal opportunities for all. These policies and practices apply to external recruitment, internal appointments, terms of employment, conditions of service and opportunities for training and promotion. The practice aims to ensure that no present or prospective employees suffer discrimination on the grounds of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, nationality, colour, race, ethnic origin, religion, age or disability, or of any other condition or requirement which cannot be shown to be justified.
The practice is also committed to a programme of action designed to make this policy effective. This includes an ongoing review of our selection criteria and procedures to ensure that individuals are treated on the basis of their relevant aptitudes, skills and abilities and that no one is in any way disadvantaged due to membership of a minority group.
Our Diversity Committee, championed by a Senior Partner, has specific responsibility for reviewing all areas of diversity and report directly to the Board. We are members of various networking groups such as Stonewall, Employment Opportunities and the Black Solicitors Network.
Charles Russell has, for a number of years, published its gender, ethnicity and age statistics. These are available by clicking here.
