David Savage
Partner
David is an equity partner and head of the eight person Construction and Engineering team at Charles Russell. The team is in the top band for construction work in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories. David joined the firm in this capacity in May 2005.
David is also Head of the Property Sector, a role in which he focusses on the firm's services to all types of property sector clients - both by the firm's property practice areas (real estate, construction, and property litigation), and more broadly.
David specialises in both domestic and international construction law. He is described in the 2013 edition of Chambers as "always available and ready to solve any problems" which also lists him as a "Leader in his Field". Legal 500 describe him as "highly efficient and pragmatic", and Chambers 2012 as having "formidable command in the field". David's work for private clients was recently recognised by his inclusion in the Landed Estates and Property category of Citywealth’s Leaders List 2013.
In his commercial work, David acts for developers, institutions, contractors, funders, designers and construction consultants.
He acts for developers, contractors, funders and consultants. David has full advocacy rights in the higher courts, and was formerly in practice at the construction bar.
In his international work, David is particularly focussed on the middle east region, working closely with Charles Russell's Bahrain office - to which he is a regular visitor. He has also delivered training on FIDIC contracts in both the UK and the MENA region.
David is an editor of 'Partnering and Collaborative Working' (published by Informa Professional) and a contributing author of 'E-commerce: A Guide to the Law of Electronic Business' (published by Butterworths).
He speaks regularly on all aspects of construction and engineering law in both the UK and internationally.
